I know this is probably the wrong place for a coment like this, but yeah.

Shallow, brainwashed-by-commercial-trends-and-shit people really annoy me sometimes.

Usually I actually don't give a shit what anyone has to say, but it's kind of pathetic that people can be so shallow...

Today, my brother just said to me: "You know what, you listen to all this 'punk' music, but you don't dress like a punk".

I actually think that's the shallowest thing he's ever said to me, lol... Now I sound stupid but it really annoyed me. Why the hell should I wear ripped clothes etc just to prove to him that I'm a "punk"?

Shallow people...
Do you agree that the world is just brainwahsed by fashion and trends and stereotyped "groups" of people? Ultimately it's about the attitude; so his statement still doesn't really make much sense... Because I just discovered the music afterwards, really, and I don't just listen to "all that punk music"...

I wish kids, etc, could be more open-minded and make up their own views on the world and not just copy what other biased people have shoved into their heads.

I agree. I dont dress any certain way either, i just have a damn good taste for music :P but some people who do dress "punk" dont listen to the music, example some of my friends at school who dress like punks and listen to hilary duff and kelly clarkson....

I think the only music that influences people's behaviour to measurable extents is Rap. With rock/punk/metal, you occasionally see people around wearing spikes and dressing "punk", but I usually see that confined to concerts and other events. But with gangstahs (lol) they all dres, act and talk just like Eminem or whoever, which either makes that culture more influential, or just makes them more prone to follow trends...

I dont know if that was offtopic, but there you go. My two cents for today.

hah, im about as hard as indiana will let me be, and i listen to bluegrass, is that what you whould call "people who do dress "punk" dont listen to the music"? heck, i own more ska albums than punk albums, but ill beat your face in quicker than you can say "sorry" if you ask "who are the dead kennedys?"

... so there you go

Yeah people are shallow. I've had the same thing said to me AND all i have to say is i avoid the style because there no sense in my opinion of having to take all the judgement that seems to come with it and i don't feel like kicking people's as#$4. So i avoid it and stay with my first love, the music.

I agree. I'm not looking forward to Christmas much anymore because it has dwindled away into a mess of commercialism, materialism, close-minded ethics and way too much repetition (when I say repetition I mean the same old ******* Christmas songs with the same old ******* commercials and the same old ******* TV shows and the same old ******* traditions and the same old ******* decorations and the same old ******* agenda and altogether the same old ******* shit). One of the worst things, however, is that people are supposed to pretend to enjoy it: Really, who here enjoys having to do the same old shit and visit your snobby asshole/poser relatives or stress yourself out going CHRISTMAS SHOPPING?

It's just a waste.

did you now that even talking, sharing ideas of punk makes us a stereo type. what the hell is the world coming too.......an end i hope. im sick and tired of people claiming to be something only to gain a sense in coolness and popularity(<cant spell this word). I do it because this way of life makes sence to me. we the people create diversity and that can never be defeated!

Have you hit him yet? You should slap some sense into him sometime soon.
