In addition to liking punk rock, I'm also becoming a good fan of heavy metal music. Don't worry, my desire for metal isn't outweighing my desire for punk rock: It's only just becoming equal.
So any recommendations?
Here are some heavy metal bands that I like:
Metallica (well, most of their stuff after And Justice for All sucked, especially St. Anger, but oh well, they're still good)
Stormtroopers of Death (Speak English or Die is good, Bigger Than the Devil sucks)
Megadeth
Testament
Anthrax
Some more to come as I continue searching for some other great bands.
So are there any good heavy metal bands that you guys have to recommend? Keep in mind, however, that I dislike psychotic and over-the-top heavy metal bands like Slayer or Cradle of Filth. |

Do you like Swedish d-beat? I'm not soooo into metal, but I listen to a lot of crust that has metal influences. Anything Swedish or "Norse" is great.
The idea that people "can't be punk" and listen to ANY kind of music is ridiculous. That's how punk musicians get original ideas - by broadening their horizons! Most punk musicians I know don’t spend a whole lot of time listening to other punk bands. It would be redundant. |

Exactly.
I have really open tastes with rock music. As a result of this, I have a pretty f*cking crazy rock record collection. On one hand I have Barenaked Ladies, then Negative FX, then Iron Maiden, then Rolling Stones, then Pink Floyd, then Dropkick Murphys, then Billy Idol, then Samhain, then The Cult, then Jimmy Buffett, then Nirvana, then Bush, then Anthrax, then Arcwelder, then Napalm Death, then Killdozer, then Brand New Sin, then then New York Dolls, then Minutemen, then Primus, then Megadeth, then Johnny Cash, then Soundgarden, then Korn, then The Killers, then Thunder, then Black Flag, then Guns 'N Roses, then Wilco, then Paul McCartney, then Reagan Youth, then Nashville Pussy, then This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb, then Operation Ivy, and then...
...I CAN'T ******* TAKE IT! |

Didn't you hear? Metal is dead!
It was a horrible accident! I heard that it was driving in San Francisco in a small volkswagen and as it was at the top of the hill, the clutch and the brakes went out..and then suddenly Metal drifted backwards into the Bay! Everyone was surprised because Metal was always good about regular vehicle maintenance! I'm quite surprised that no one heard about this. It was June 18, 1990. That was the day that Metal died. I heard that Metal is survived by a son. Currently is being raised in a dysfunctional home, I believe it is the "Slipknot" household. I'm not quite sure, I lost touch after that. |
