The Matches

Oakland California's The Matches are set to release their sophomore CD, Decomposer, on September 12th. A nine minute sampler is on the band's MySpace page (www.myspace.com/thematches), where fans can hear a more mature sound from the band. However, fans of the first record will be happy to hear familiar pop beats, as well as more edgy material, from this high-energy band.

Has anyone heard the sampler? What do you think? Discuss.

I have been listening to the Matches for awhile now, and I cannot wait for this new album! I've heard the full versions of "Little Maggots", "Papercut Skin", and "Shoot Me in the Smile". They don't sound like anything off of E. Von Dahl Killed the Locals, but I like hearing the different sounds come together. This is going to be a great album; I can't wait til it comes out!

Yes! I don't hear too many people talking about The Matches, but my friend and I definately went to a concert of theirs in Houston (opening for reel big fish if I'm not mistaken). He got a free sticker and I got a pick he threw into the audience
