i was just wondering, labor day is an american holiday right because america is all about respecting people who work hard for a living. However, my friend works for a corporation that did not even give him the day off, yet the office for this corp. (the people that dont work in the weather hot or cold wet or dry) get the day off. Is labor day realy about laborers? The people who work hard, or is it just that they get the day off if it is convienent for the facist corp. they work for? If the guys at the top can spend the day with their family and let the labors foot the bill, something should be done to force those nazis to show some respect to the guys who pay their bills. Everything in this country seems to have become about corporate wealth and unfairness to the laborer. Whats even the point of the holiday if the people it honors don't even get to enjoy it.

yea labor day is pretty much the bullshit substitute for may day which is the real 'labor day' so to speak. Its basiclly just bourgousie bullshit to say that they are giving respect to the proletariat, which in fact is bullshit, I dont get labor day off and most my friends dont either

Well, im still in school and dont have a job right now, so all it means is i don have to go to school that day. I think that if you arent allowed off on labor day, dont go to work anyway. If you get in trouble, argue about it.
